pedagogy and arpeggios

first day of classes today....
beautiful.
276 is gon be grandiose I think, I get to be in the schools and teach so thats pretty exciting.French will be marvy and mildly hysterical, and multicultural ed will be an experience in and of itself in the bizarre art of self discovery. Here is a quote from my teacher Dr. Birrell.
"Is there a greater compliment than having someone try to convert you to their eternity?"

think about it, even the Jehova's witnesses care enough to try and get anyone they can to share their eternity...though I think that might be different, but still it's the love that counts.

We talked a lot about allowing enough room in our hearts to love someone in their grade "A" selves. He said that we don't have to love what people do, but we do need to make a safe place for them in our hearts to love them. If you judge someone you are only limiting the possibilities between you and that person, you no longer can allow for a beautiful relationship because you have cut the relationship off-half closed.

obviously we were talking about a teacher's relationship to students, but I think it can apply to any relationship really. Especially brand-new ones when everyone is so quick to judge ya?

one last thing. Quote from Richard G. Scott "Most sin is the result of unmet needs." This blows my mind.
