SOL

Slice of my life eh?
Second day of school today. It was beautiful. My head feels like it's about to explode with life and words and love and I just missed school! Two crazy things happened today. First, Professor Crowe scared the living daylights out of me and brought out my worst stubborn monster. He comes into class 5 min. late, in jeans and sandals, then proceeds to tell us all the awful things about our program, the stupid class, the horrible position he's in, how he hates teaching and the program, how women are far less professional in teaching, etc. etc. on and on. Then poor Courtney enters the class 10 min. late and is basically thrown out on her face for being late-despite her pleas of needing the class to graduate AND having morning sickness. Great-The devil reincarnate is my professor at 8 a.m, perf. Then this dude come in and is all buddy buddy with Crowe and he gets to sit down like nothing happened at all! Finally he pulls up a poem called 'Slipper Sex'- last straw, I can't stand the awkwardness anymore and leave class.

Turns out this is one big joke and I am one of the few, the brave, who left before I either burst out laughing or tackle him down for sheer ridiculousness. Anyway, he really is an amazing and caring teacher and I'm excited to be in his class- though a little intimidated by his methods and ability to keep a fantastic straight face. Well played Crowe. Well played.

Second great thing that happened today. After years of having relationships that never seem to make me happy enough, I enter one that is so great this summer with Ben and am thuper happy. Anyway, today on campus it happened, just like my mom always said it would- I'd see the boy I was dating on campus and would be so happy and excited that I'd just want to run to him and kiss his face.....yep that happened, minus the running. We are in love and it's great and we are in the fresh new wonderful stage and I like it.

Welcome back to school friends.

  1. So I have taken Dr. Crowe, and he really is a great professor, but I am also doubly sure that if I hadn't met him I would have walked out or said something about his atrocious behavior to his face. Something we need to remember as teachers is that these exercises can be affective, but need to be in appropriate way and time.
