Today was the last day of school here at BYU.
the j-dawgs line stretched from Brigham Square to the admin. building. bahahhahah
Tonight we have a slow dance party :) hurray! I'm taking my wonderfully adorable Gentry Bruce! I feel like it is to commemorate wonderful people like Christine Tarabilda and Whitney Bush who are graduating after years of intense schooling. Hallelu!
anyways, here is what I've been thinking about as the semester ends.
I took a multiculturalism class this semester for my major and was incredibly pessimistic about it at first. I was terrified really until i realized that it was all about how to love better. love more and be happier.
The greatest thing I learned was to hold a bigger space for people. Each time we look at someone we instantly decide who they are in our eyes. Instead, why don't we look at them and decide to hold a huge space in our hearts for them? THey are probably wonderful--we just don't know it yet. So here are 5 rules to take with you into life.
1. Stay in the heart of Grace
2. Never assume
3. Get into their World
4. Be who they need you to be
5. Give them what they need to succeed
Try it for a day and find how much more love you have in your heart, seriously it fills you up until you feel like you could drown in it! It's heavy, but delicious, like German chocolate ;)
Happy semester everyone. It's been lovely.
